Saint Paul’s UMC is the home of the South Shore Food Pantry on Staten Island. This ministry was started over 25 years ago and is still helping many people in need today. The past year has been very difficult for people because of situations involving the pandemic and inflation. We are here to help those who are struggling these days to have enough food at home. We believe in this ministry because Jesus met people’s physical needs as much as their spiritual need.
We have a new evening for The South Shore Food Pantry. We are now open on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for food pick-up. Due to COVID-19, you must make an appointment before coming to the food pantry.
Please call (718) 227-2485 on Saturday to make an appointment. Please leave your name and number on the message. On Sunday someone will call you back and set up an appointment time for you to come pick up your food.
We accept donations Wednesday – Friday from 10 am – 4:30 pm. If you would like to make a donation at another time please call (718) 227-2485 and we will arrange a time.
We can accept: Canned and packaged foods (Please remember to check the expiration dates), some produce (please call us for more information on timing), paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, soap, individually packaged toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shaving supplies.
We cannot accept: Past date food, dairy products, or any medical supplies.
Would you like to volunteer? We always welcome anyone who wishes to help sort, bag, and enjoy fellowship. If you are interested please call (718) 227-2485 and leave a message for Sheryl. The best times are Weds. & Thurs. mornings.
